Transmission question 2012 A8L
 

Good morning, I recently purchased a CPO 2012 A8L from the local dealer and I like the car quite a bit. My only complaint with it right now is that often when slowing to almost a complete stop and then accelerating, such as coming to a red light that turns green, the car will hesitate to engage in gear for just a second. Is this something that others have experienced or should I schedule a service to have it checked out. Thanks in advance for any input.

Happens all the time to me as well.
Very annoying and Audi tells me it is set to specs.
Very sad that a $100K car runs like that!

Very interesting. I've had the same problem for more than six months with my 2012 A8L, which I purchased in March 2015. As you say, it's annoying and uncomfortable.

On my second visit to my dealer for this problem, they suspected coolant in the transmission and apparently confirmed it with glycol test strips. I'm proud of them for their insight and persistence. They've replaced the radiator and drained and refilled the transmission, which may yet need to be replaced. I just got the car back yesterday afternoon and plan to drive it and see what happens. It is seemingly a serious matter and from what I surmise, a rare occurrence not easily diagnosed.

I'll be interested to see what you learn.

I had one, a few months old one in 2011 as a loaner for a week and I also observed that, it was very out of character as other than that shifts were imperceivable.
