Warning light on dash. What does it mean?

I did not get a manual with my 2001 A8L. Beeping noise and this symbol is on my display.

(O)

What does it mean? Brakes?
The circle is bigger and the lines around the outside are smaller.
Cheers

RE: Warning light on dash. What does it mean?

yes that means it is time to change the front pads, I dont think there are any sensors on the back brakes.

correct. means the front pads are wearing down low to the electric indicators. i highly recommend replacing pads with factory ones. i went with aftermarket pads, pbr i believe, and the light would always come on. i just eliminated it behind the cluster and grounded it out. im always maintaining my own vehicles anyways. good luck!

Dash symbols:

If you press the "Check" button on the dash next to the odometer reset it will give you some additional text along with the symbol.
