Default Water leak in your Audi from the AC?

Hello,

I am one of the unlucky ones with wet socks and shoes. My car has been dripping/pouring water into both footwells when the AC is on. Mostly when I make turns. I have noticed quite a few articles on this. I am trying to get a count of how many people have had this issue. Please post if affected by this.
Thank you.

Hey,

I just bought a 1997 A8 4.2l and the exact same thing has happened to me. Glad to know that it is indeed just water and that it is indeed from the air conditioner (I thought both). Is there a fix for this? And is there any danger of shorting something out?

You might have seen this already. http://www.audipages.com/Tech_Articles/heatac/exaporatordrains.html
I am halfway through the fix. Just need to go get the drains blown. When I pulled the orange funnel, lots of water came out. So the block has to be in there. I tried to poke a wire through there, but that did not work.

Just finished my fix. I found two circles of water under my car. No more wet socks.

Hey thanks, once I have a free day I'm going to give that fix a shot. I don't want to have to wear rubber-boots any more [:@]

Please note that the entire orange rubber tube is less than six inches / 25 cm in length. It pulls out easily and then can be cleaned thoroughly. Just be sure to re-attach it securely as there is a grommet fitting that needs to be threaded into the body.

I have had 4 audis--this is the first time the water dumped onto driver and passenger feet. I have a 2007 Q7. I have spent $700 already paying my certified audi mechanic to drain the water. now he is saying the next fix will cost me $2,000 to remove the console--that is a design defect. the problem began with 60,000 miles total. I am looking to Audi to fix the problem before I spend another cent
