Confused about window tint - Please HELP!!

Advice or suggestion is greatly appreciated.

I'm researching tint for the front 2 windows of my Audi Q5 & all windows on my 2012 VW Jetta. I know nothing about window film. To me, some vehicles look beautiful & some not so much. I'm receiving conflicting info from the tint shops thus making my decision much more difficult than it should.

1) Brand of tint to use? Llumar, Suntek or Huper Optik X-treme? All priced the exact same in my area. $69 for front two & $179 for all 4 windows. The back windows on the Q5 have a factory privacy glass.

2) Legal limit is 32% in my state. I am having difficulty deciding on how dark. I would love to go 20% all around but am afraid due to the legal limit. I decided on 35% & am leaning toward Huper Optik. The problem.....The HO guy has insisted that both vehicles have a slight tint from the factory. The front windows of the Q5 look slightly tinted but the Jetta does not look tinted at all. He states the 35% HO extreme film will make the windows an actual 23% & that I should go lighter with the 40% film making it a legal 32%.

I have researched & looked at alot of photos online. Many Audi Q5 owners say 35% matches the back well but do not state the brand.

I'm ok with going darker than legal. My main objective is to have the front two windows match the back of the Q5. I can clearly see through the back of the Q5 & I think a similar shade will be satisfactory on the Jetta.

Who knew there were so many options. My head hurts. Any input is greatly appreciated. - Thanks!!

PS any photos or links to other info is appreciated.

My head hurt too... for what its worth, I had 40% (actually spec'd at 43%) in my new A4 and I think it looks classy, without being ghetto blacked out... and little risk from the police as you can actually still see inside the car. I used Llumar ATC 40; if I could do it differently, I would have used newer high end ceramic; but, regardless, it looks great. Bottom line is that the glass should be at about 32% total right now.
