I want to purchase the same dipstick for my 2014 Q5 2.0T TFSI but it apparently only fits/works on the TSI engines, based upon this website anyway:

Audi Q5 Quattro 2.0T - 06J115611E - Engine Oil Dipstick - ES#2662893

I'm trying to confirm whether this is actually true.

Thanks
2013 Q5, 2.0L TFSI

I purchased an AU 40178 from Beach Audio on eBay for $42 + $10 S/H. Ran a correlation between it and the MMI readout. The MMI seems to work well. At the 15K service the MMI said Full and the dipstick read 27. I may have gone with the adjustable so I could use it on other cars in the future and because the plastic ***** on the ’08 A3 dipstick cracked, broke and fell off.

The adjustable is a little difficult to read since the level is not square with the stick. It therefore reads across about 2-3 numbers. But since the MMI works OK, I have backed off using the dipstick. Gotta get with the 21st century.

The Q5 does not seem to use oil like the A3 so I only top it off if it is below ½ quart and I am headed out on a trip. BTW, since I don’t trust plastic parts in a high temp environment and had so much trouble removing it, I purchased a spare plug for the dipstick tube. $6 is good insurance when the part breaks on a holiday weekend.
