2009 Audi Q7 4L 3.0 TDI cranks but doesn't start
Recently picked up Q7 3.0TDI with 75k kms on the clock. It has an ABS and ESP error that piped up soon after tire rotation and alignment work being done.
Saturday last week,, while I was overtaking at about 80/90kms speed the car just died. It cranks but doesn't start ever since. I don't have a VAGCOM but I did scan using Launch X431. Below are the error codes. The scan says there are 8 errors in total 008213 - intake manifold flap position sensor bank 1 000135 - fuel rail / system preasure 05405 - ( 24, F1, 15, 1D) please refer to relevant tech manual 001393 - break switch (F) 01423 - sensor for leaking lateral acc.-G200 01487 - system function test - value of resistance too great 01486 - system function test activated 00778 - steering angle sender G85 from google, I understand that none of these should have lead to the car stalling while driving. have any of you experienced similar issues, should I be checking the crank position sensor. I see that the RPM needle move while cranking. Does this me an that the CP sensor is working. |
Have done the following
1) removed the bank 1 and 2 to clean and re fix the swirl flaps. Bank 1 has play so am using a rebuild kit to fix both the banks. 2) cleaning the intake manifold, EGR and throttle body Hope the clean and refit plus the siwrl flap kits fix the issues. |
Completed clean and refit. Battery went dead so I will charger and then try cranking
1) clear all error codes 2) use freshly charged battery Will post progress later today |
Got a spare battery and the car still won't start. Any one help !!

Audi dealership called today said that they found metal shavings in the file filter and may need to change he fuel delivery shatter in the car.
Not sure what all needs change based on this. |
Hi Harish - Can you tell us how this ended up? My 2007 Q7 won't start, no 'priority 1' codes, seems to have fuel pressure, new battery, fully charged.
Thanks in advance |

Thanks in advance Open the engine cover look for the fuel mechanical high pressure fuel pump there is a fuel metering sensor on its right side remove the sensor. Check for metal particles. If found then that is the reason the car is not starting. you will see error codes for fuel pressure |
thank you
