2018 Q7 Homelink and Blind Spot Monitoring System Conflict?
Picked up my 2018 Q7 on Tuesday and have not been able to program the Homelink button. Finally gave up after almost 2 hours of research and called Homelink Customer Assistance. They advised taking the car to the dealer and having them completely remove the Blind Spot Monitoring System from the car and then programming the Homelink. Then getting the BSM reinstalled.
Has any one heard of a conflict between the Homelink and BSM system in 2018 Q7s?

Not the bsms
It’s not the blind spot monitor. I had a tough time getting the homelink to synch to my liftmaster opener, but got it done. Here’re the steps, more or less.
- follow the menu directions for connecting.
- expect to have it fail at the synchronization point.
- when it asks if you want to continue, press “no”.
- shut car off, then start it.
- now, press buttons 1 & 3, then press button 1.
- the menu will activate, asking if you want to synch.
- press “yes”
- press button 1.
That worked for me. Good luck.

Wish I had tried your work around
Thanks for the reply. After finally giving up, I contacted the dealer, and took the car in. They removed the fuse to disable the BSMS, then programmed the first half of the operation with my garage remote, reinstalled the fuse and sent me home. I was able to complete the programming by just hitting the rolling code button on the back of the garage door opener at home and then completed the process. Wish I had tried your work around before having to trudge back to the dealer defeated! Haven't had a problem with the Opener since!
