Default 2009 Audi Q7 TDi 3.0 diesel in the U.S.?

Been looking forward to the release of the Q7 3.0 TDi diesel in the U.S. I've read that it was expected on our shores around Dec./Jan. But yesterday I stopped by the local Audi dealership and was told that the manager informed the sales people that it probably wouldn't arrive until at least April '09. It's not mentioned in the new '09 Q7 brochure either. 25+MPG Highwa and over 600 miles per tank is a great bonus. Anyone know any further info???

From what I've found on the .net, it seems that after the 4800 mile Audi diesel enduro from N.Y. to L.A. which ends on 20 Oct. is when the diesels will be introduced to the U.S., but it's not known when they will be available. Looks like the price of a diesel will add $2-3K per vehicle.

Why did they have to get rid of the Polar/Arctic white for the '09 Q7? Calla (cream) white is now the only white choice. Wish they would also have the beige interior for the S-line package. Air Ride suspension is only available on the 4.2. But a '09 Audi Q7 3.0 TDi Prestige with the S-line package with 21" rims should look nice.

I saw a 3.0 TDI on the road yesterday in Florida. I-4 between Tampa and Orlando.
Took a good close look just to make sure. Ended up following him for several miles to make sure I was not seeing things.

I work at an Audi dealership. We already have the order guides for the Diesel Q7, but no pricing, and haven't received an allocation yet(ability to order). Our regional rep told us that the first 1/4 of the year(2009) will be very busy:

Q7 Diesel
Q5
A4 with FWD and Manual options
"new" A6 with bumper restyle and 3.0 supercharged engine

So you'll probably see it in the January/February timeframe. You will probably be able to pre order them as early as November.

For the guy who saw one in Florida. A lot of the US Audi "test" cars show up in FL. So that doesn't surprise me. There has been a V10 R8 in Florida for several months now doing "testing."

Thanks for the info.
Is the V10 R8 the Diesel R8 La Mans that I thought was cancelled? I was really looking forward to seeing a diesel supercar on the road.

The V10 is a gas engine ("cousin" of the Gallardo engine) That is supposed to be around 500hp.

The V12 diesel would be awesome. One day they say the are building it, the next day they aren't. However, the have 2 running test mules that they keep showing off, so my fingers are crossed. If they don't plan on building it, why would they keep showing it off and letting magazines do articles on it. Also, it would kind of waste all the diesel race technology they've been developing.
