I have an early production 2007 3.6 Q7 and since I drove it brand new off the dealers lot the oil pressure light would go on and off. We also get a terrible start up noise (reminds me of the 80's GM diesel pick up my dad had when I was a kid). It has been to the dealer countless times. We lost power on a weekend trip recentely. They did a software update which got full power back but we still get periodic weird sputters. The start up noise is still there but customer service tells me now that is a normal sound. Funny the 2008 loaner Q7 we are driving (because ours has been at the dealer for more repairs for 2 weeks now) does not make the noise at start up. I worry about the ongoing damage this may have been doing to the engine. I have read about minor fixes for these issues, to engine replacements, to complete vehicle replacements......dealing with Bonnie at the Audi abritration department, I really don't know who to believe on these issues. This is the first Audi I have owned and probably will be my last. I have owned Volvos, BMW's, Mercedes, Porsches and have never had problems like these before. The most frustrating part is that nobody at Audi can seem to give me an honest answer.
