I just purchased a 2007 Q7 Premium 4.2 with 55k miles last weekend. I noticed that sometimes the cooling fans will turn on and run for maybe 30 seconds after I turn the engine off. I have read on the forum that this is normal with a TDI and the manual for my SUV even references the fans turning on in this manner when the engine has a certain amount of heat. While it does not always turn on it is doing so from time to time despite the weather of about 30 degrees outside. Is this normal?


I just don't have a benchmark and am wondering if I need to address it with the dealer I from which I purchased it. Thanks in advance for your reply!

It's normal. I have a 4.2 in my S4 and the fans usually run for about 30 secs after I turn off the ignition.
