Transmission problems perhaps?
Purchased an Audi Q7 3.0TDI 2007 model, 4 months ago, love it but whilst driving in snowy & icy conditions a few weeks ago a noise started to sound under the car. At first I thought it was perhaps the traction control with the four wheel drive (as I have never driven a 4-wheel drive before). Approximately three weeks later after first hearing the initial sound, I was testing the driving conditions of the car out in an open snowy car park, handled brilliant, but, the noise started to sounds again this time it’s there constantly, well especially when the car is accelerating, only going straight. At constant speeds however the noise its not there. If I switch to manual and go up and down the gears, keeping the speed constant the noise doesn’t sound. Thus I am thinking it may be the transfer box. I am planning to disconnect firstly the front axle, take it for a spin and listen if the noise is still present, then the rear. Any thoughts or comments welcome?

Transfer case
Hi all, found the problem with the noise from under the car. The transfer case had no oil in it. The car had just been serviced as well. Saying that it states the transfer case requires no maintenance. I have created a new thread.
