Q7 TDI - short commute?
 

greetings all!

im looking to buy my first diesel car. specially a 2013 Q7 TDI prestige S-line

my concern revolves around my short commute. i’ve read that using the TDI as a daily driver for short commutes (mine is 4 miles each way. 7 miles each way if i go to the gym) can be incredibly detrimental to the engine.

any advice ? should i just avoid the TDI? if i open the car a couple of times per month (25-30miles on highway) would that sufficiently burn through the diesel?
