Question: 2011 Q7 burning oil

Hi:

First post here on the Audi forum.

Question about oil consumption. I have a 2011 Q7 3.0L bought new in 2010, regular maintained by dealer. I drive quite a bit, about 40000km(25000 miles)/yr. Low oil light came on around 40000km for 1st time, didn't think too much of it, topped it up. Since then, oil light came on 3 times: basically every 5000km (~3000miles), and each time I had to add about 1.5 liters of oil. No oil leaks on garage floor, no black smoke, although tail pipes seem to have excessive carbon build up. no codes from computer................seems excessive to me. Even my BMW 4L V8 M3 doesn't burn that much oil.

Does anyone have similar oil consumption, is it normal for this V6 3.0L engine?

thank you in advance.

Needing oil top up every 4200 miles, which is about 6700 km. Mine needs top up every 5000 km or 3125 miles. So in between service I need to top up 3 times, which seems excessive. Will have to talk to the dealer and see what they say.

thank you,
