Check the FAQ at the top of this forum. It covers the typical intakes. There rae not alot, but there are several options, from retaining the stock airbox with a k&n drop in panel filter, to an open element such as the cone or mushroom shape, to supposed cai's, custom fabs, and like a 300 dollar carbon filter job. no real gains of one or the other. do you have a 225, 180, 3.2? year?

FWIW, I had a K&N drop in filter on my stock box and noticed a pretty good difference in the ol' butt-dyno.

However, I've recently swapped out the stock airbox for a open element cone filter just because I wanted to hear my DV better. They both cost about the same and give you about the same performance increase.

^ you should get a modshack VTDA!

those things are a bit pricey but they're toootally worth it. they totally enclose and decrease airflow from the nasa-like space tube design with state of the art heat wrapping and you can also add a custom color to your intake! this is the intake to get!!

http://www.modshack.info/VTDA.htm

and don't forget the **** (stage 2) and Boost Machine (stage 3). you're going to need a 4-bar FPR w/ the ****. at modshack stage 3, your TT's gonna fly!!

^ yes. make sure you notify steve whether you have a 180 or a 225, but either or a little stretching of silicone tubing wont hurt.

don't forget the **** and boost machine, total necessities when getting the vtda. infact, every TT should have a modshack stage 3!

srcsm ftw?

haha dont listen to clipse.

i have a cone filter (which was the vtda but i took it apart and just use the filter on the inside) which works well

shroom filters also have had there moment here, i know there is a big thread about shroom filters floatin around here somewhere.

your stock box, however, is just fine, a drop in k&n works and you could always swiss cheese the bottom

I use the stock box and it is the best choice in my opinion.. feel like you retain more torque and sounds a little more throaty then an open filter..
