I have a infrequent happening when sometimes starting, it fires right up but then dies. It will always restart and run fine after that. We scanned it and it comes up with one code: 17978 P1570. It's happened about 2 or 3 times the last month or so. Something to be concerned about or just a hiccup? Car never stalls out and runs really well otherwise. This is only on a cold start, if that makes any difference.

I'm having this exact issue with my 2002 Audi TT 225, it happens randomly. I have noticed when It does happen, the security light will still be blinking as the car dies. (By default the security light blinks a few times upon inserting the key into the ignition). The code translates to "Contr.Module Locked", I am not sure what this means so i'm hoping someone can enlighten us. From what I gather, It seems that this is either an issue with the key or with a security sensor I am not aware of. Any insight would be appreciated.

 

We have not had this code now for quite some time. What we do is put the key in, turn the ignition on, wait for the little car with the key light to go out, then start it up. That has seemed to take care of the immobilizer issue.
