2001 Audi TT - Air Condition Help
I'll be posting a few questions if you don't mind. I just got my 2001 Audi TT and am very excited about it but have a few issues/confusion.
How do you work the AC? I figured out the heat and defrost but I can't figure out how to make the thing blow cold. Right now, it seems as if it just blows outside air.
What is the purpose of this button? I have pushed it many times and see no change. Thanks!
Do I need my LCD repaired? Am I missing any displaying of data due to missing lines? Also, what is the icon indicating to me?
My Cobra Radar Detector is working very well but the power cord is quite distracting to my view. It came with a separate cord that has a positive and ground lead intended to hook up to a power source other than the 12V lighter plug. If I run the cable to the light next to the rear-view mirror, are there any leads I can hook up to that will be suitable for powering the unit? Or, do you have any other ideas of how to run the cable so it is unseen? Thanks!
So, how does one go about getting the radio all the way into the slot so you can continue to use the TT cover? The wiring harnesses are so thick that it makes everything very difficult to push back. Should I take apart the dash so I can properly pull everything back or is there another remedy? Thanks!
What the heck is the telephone port under the cup holder for? Do I get free AT&T with it?
My 2001 Audi TT came with the drivers side sun visor missing a screw. What do I buy to replace it?
The first time I attempted to roll down the passenger-side window in my 2001 TT, the switch like fell or slid in the door. How can I repair this? Thanks!
Attached is how I have my subwoofer input/remote wires. They come out near the ash tray and straight to the back seat. How do neatly hide these?

Please do not start 9 threads when one is all you need. Its highly annoying.

The AC is always on unless you hit the econ button. The air that blows out will be all that is needed to keep the temp as the set temp

Its for the sensor inside the car. If you have a dog in the car and lock the doors, it will set of the alarm or not depending on how that button is set

Your lcd is fine.... That is windshield wiper fluid

Your not very creative are you? First your detector isnt suppose to be that high. Once you lower it, you can then run the power cord in the vent and to w/e you choose or just wrap it around and to the lighter.

Not all headunits will allow the cover to work.

A 80's style car phone was an option...

Really? You started a thread about needing a screw? Just think about this for a minute.
The first time I attempted to roll down the passenger-side window in my 2001 TT, the switch like fell or slid in the door. How can I repair this? Thanks!
You can pull the door card and check the underside. Its only held on by one t25 torx bolt behind the circle cover on the handle. Twist and it comes off.

Why not be like normal people and pull the seat up and run it around the door sills? Makes sense to me.
Now PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD spend some time to read the forums. Everything you asked is common place. And we get it, you got a 2001 TT and your asking questions in a TT FORUM!! WOW!

Sorry about that but I knew there would be some people that only knew the answers to some of the questions and not all; you proved me wrong.
Could you please explain the following:
How do I get the the door sills to run the wire? Pics please!
What kind of screw do I need to keep the visor in place?
Can you explain more on how to fix the window switch?
Also, the radar detector is at an angle and it was been working great - sometimes retrieving signals 1 mile away.

Just pull the seat up and then you should be able to just slide the wire under the sill since there will be space between it and the carpet
What kind of screw do I need to keep the visor in place?
Why not just pull one off the other side and go to the dealer or even lowes and match it.

Just pull the cap off and look inside. You probably dont have to do anything more than that.

Thats great, but still not going to save your *** when they dont have radar on...

Apple, ditch the radar detector. They were useful when everyone used dopler, but most PD's are using lasers now. Once in a while you'll get someone using dopler, but not often.
Even if yours detects laser, by the time you get a single chirp and your foot lets off the gas, the cop has your speed. Your detector will not chirp unless the laser hits YOUR car.
Do what I do...Don't go any faster than you can talk yourself out of.
