2001 tt 225hp...coupe vs roadster?
 

hi I am in the market for a TT 01- 02. my dilema is that which has the most legroom?
secondly, i would love to hear the pros and cons of buying one or the other?
finally which would u guys vote for me to get? i am single, no kids..
all suggestions appreciated.

there is no tt sedan...i think you mean TT coupe (hardtop non-convertable) and TT roadster (soft top convertable) and in that case...they both have the same dimensions.

The question you are asking has a lot to do with personal preferrence as well as what you are going to use the car for.....

I personally love having an open top roadster, putting the top down on a nice day (or on a 40 degree day with the heat cranked and heated seats on) is a great time no matter where you are going. Now the coupe will obviously handle better and if you are looking for max performance out of a car then the coupe is more structually sound and lighter. I still take my roadster to the track and SCCA events and it does fine, it is basically a stock car though so not competitive with those all out race cars anyway (a stock coupe wouldn't be either)
There is not much wind with the top down, it has a power glass wind screen, and if you put up the windows @ 80 you can have a civil conversation. The trunk room readlly isn't too bad, the top doesn't eat any room. I've put quite a few bags in there, more than enough for a couple to go for the weekend....
I haven't had any issues with the roadster "parts" such as top, motor etc...
Plus those alum roll hoops look sweet......

Just wanted to add that there is not much of a backseat in the coupe.
I'm 5'5" and my seat is practically in the back.

He-he well obviously your car is a 2000 can tell by the red TT, but are you 180 or 225?
Also do you have AWD or FWD? And do you live on the east coast, somewhere close to NY?

if a TT has the 225 engine it is AWD. to respond to stigainnova I think he should go with the convertible with all the same reasons 8rings said because as a sports car it 's more enjoyable with the top down. I used to have a coupeb and loved it but now nobody could take my roadster away.

180 AWD, right in the middle of NY (about 45 minutes south of Utica).

You're in westchester? Pretty much right in the city then, huh?

Oh wow Utica is pretty far up there. I'm a good 45 minute drive to Manhattan. Same exact car though, what are the odds?

Utica is only far up if you're all the way down, I'm right in the middle of the state practically.

So, do you plan on modding your car any? Technically, our cars are not quite the same, I put a bitchin' $35 boost gauge on the a-pillar. : )

Oh ok, you got me on the boost gauge. But yes very soon I plan on chipping, new dv, tinting, and getting a new exhaust.
A new paint job will also be in the works, some people need to learn to control their shopping carts!

I just checked the dates, this semester I have a Saturday class from 12-3. I could possibly go the 24th, Maryland is a long drive though. It's definitely something too look into!

Its damn awesome, thats all I can say. Need more TT's representing though, only saw 4 besides mine last year, and those 4 are from the audiworld forums. Even stock, you'll be turning heads as much as the modified Vdubs and A4's that are everywhere.

I'll have to wait and see how chill my professor is.
