Just did the automatic transmission fluid and filter change on the TT per the Bentley manual procedure. Measured 4 liters during the drain and 4 liters during the fill. Just wondering if that is what others see during the change. The kit from Blaufergnugen included 6 liters and the DIY for the A4 Tiptronic indicates it should be 5.5 liters. I realize that the pans are different so there is no reason that they should have the same fill amounts. Also, does anyone know the fluid capacity of the transmission? I did try to find it using search but found no specific information.

 

According to the Bentley manual, the capacity of the 09G transmission used in the FWD TT is 7.0 liters. Still interested in others experience with drain/fill amounts.

 

the pan in my tt held 2 litrs when i had to drop it this week to remove the driver's side front control arm mounting bolt. That would indicate to me that the torque converter holds 5 litres is the above mentioned amount is correct. i believe you have to slightly overfill it cold, bring it up to a certain temperature, remove the inspection bold and let the exess drain off until it just drips and replace the inspection bolt. Oh, if only they had dipsticks!
