Default 2003 Audi TT Quattro Convertible

Hello all!

I am a noob to both Audi and this forum. My wife and I just came home today with a 2003 Audi TT Quattro 225hp Convertible. We fell in love this car over all over convertibles out there in our price range. Everything seems to check out fine on the car, however I did notice that after driving it the hood seems to be really really hot. The water temp gauge has it put right in the middle and it moves a "click" cooler and hotter at times (which seems to be normal for every car i have owned).

Anyone have any feed back on this??

Thanks,

Justin

sounds like a thermostat failing or broken or missing impeller(s) on the water pump if an o.e. pump.

Did you get the maintenence records from the previous owner? Very important.

What is the milage on the odometer?

1.8L motor?

Has the timing belt and water pump ever been changed?

Do you have an owners manual (glove box) and/or a Bentley manual?

post back and well go from there.........

Where do you live? It's 115 in AZ this week, and I assure you that my car (also a 2003 Roadster 225hp) while also running at 1/2 on the thermostat is hotter than heck after a decent spirited ride! LOL! Even after 3 hours I still couldn't do much work under the hood last night - it's just darn nasty here!

When my water pump started to go belly up earlier this year I started getting an engine code. It was then that I changed it (and of course my timing belt while at it)... If the belt hasn't been changed and you are pushing 60+k miles, definatey do it....
