On my 2011 TT, the TPMS system came on with a System Malfunction, it could not be reset the usual way. This system does not have active sensors in the tires but uses a passive system based on the rotation of the tires in relation to each other. I reset it twice a year when I switch from summer tires to the winter tires. With this error, I could not reset it. After taking to the dealer, he said the error was caused by the pump that supplies oil to the rear differential and this pump needs to be replaced. Has anyone else had this problem? It seems strange to have a lubricating pump cause a tire pressure error.
