245-40-18, Is this alright for an 18" Rim for a TT ?

I bought those rims I posted a while back, the momo strike's. Even though you guys didn't like them. :-P

Anyway. The only tires I have right now are 245-40-18's.
Are these alright to put on the wheels, and would this create any problems for the TT ?
I know you guys keep sayin that 225's are the best but I don't have them, so don't say to buy those instead.

Just tell me if these are alright.

Thanks guys.

The rims are 8 inches wide.

wow 8" wide and you are using 245 is kinda over doing it. But it should be fine, I have 245 on my 9.5". Though it should be 255 cause 245 is still a lil stretched over the rim.

you're gonna have monster truck my friend.

shrink the tire size down to 225's all around.

235/40/18 is a great size

i wouldnt go with anything bigger than 225 in the front, and 255 in the back

I am running a staggard set up at 8.5 (F) and 9.5 (R). So the ideal tire size is 235 (F) and 255 (R). Currently I am running 225 in the front 245 in rear and both front and rear are still a lilttle stretched.

^ i like a little stretch and poke.

Little late but just noticed this thread.

205 - 7"
215 - 7.5"
225 - 8"
235 - 8.5"

To maximize turn-in & control, there needs to be a tight relationship between tire & rim width. A wider tire will net slightly more grip on the same rim but less control. I personally will take control any day to outright grip.
