5th Gear high rpm & slow speed

Hello,

Just recently got my hands on a TT and it has a "few kinks". The first and more important one is;

1. When I engage 5th gear it feels like it's in 3rd. Higher rpm than 4th gear and doesn't accelerate much. Does the clutch need replacing or something else?

2. Passenger door opens sometimes, but only from the outside.

3. Check engine light with codes P1136 & P1476. Couldn't find a bad vacuum hoses. New with this type of car, have no idea how to trouble shoot this.

4. Airbag light on dash always on.

Any help is really appreciated.

You have a bad clutch I am assuming. A way you can test it is hit 25mph, throw it in 5th gear and floor it. Watch the rpms. After holding it for a good 10 - 15 seconds, how did the rpms react? If they jump up quicky your clutch is slipping.

They jumped alright! So new clutch it is... Just looking for a standard clutch (stage 1 at most). Looked some up on ebay, are this ok or are they a big no no?

I've never had any experience with ebay clutches, but I imagine it should be ok. Just look at the seller's name/company etc. Most of those on ebay are from known websites/sellers. Check the feedback and so on.
