Audi TT 225 overheating Yes I have searched and tried just about everything.

Hey guys,
I purchased a TT 225 about 3 days ago. Had a few issues so I got it for next to nothing. I replaced the timing belt, water pump and the thermostat. Car is still over heating. Not leaking from water pump anymore but it is overheating. All the hoses get very hot other than the hose from thermostat to bottom of radiator. I thought well maybe I got a bad thermostat so I replaced it again with no luck. Its like the water is not flowing through the radiator or something. Because when I drain some of the fluid from the drain on the bottom its still cold. Anyway I will let you all think on this for a min. Do you think the radiator could be clogged or something?

You have a clog or an air lock or head gasket failure. If the radiator is making a lot of pressure quickly then you have a blown head gasket. If the engine is air locked it wont circulate the water the same as if you have a clogged radiator. Drain the coolant, pull the hoses, and flush the system with a water hose. Rule of thumb, the radiator should take the flow of a water hose if the bottom hose is off of it with out overflowing the top. If that is relatively good you have an air pocket or some other problem.
