Axle Assembly question (2004 FWD base model)
Been a while since I've embarked on a saga to order aftermarket parts & find a decent mechanic who'll do work "on the side" to replace my two front axles, as well as the transmission & engine mount.
My question: most online retailers specify that parts for 2000-2002 models are DIFFERENT, & will not fit 2002-2006 models, even though they're all part of the make 1 generation. Is this correct, or is it a case of 'better safe than sorry' web-advice? I ask because I'm able to track down a 2003-2006 aftermarket part for driver's side (http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/de...3-1787055.html) but after days of scouring the web cannot, for the life of me, find the passenger's side equivalent, so I've been looking @ 2000-2002 (e.g. http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/de...QA1607253.html) equivalent. Worth noting that I've followed the advice given in a previous thread & already checked w/ www.mjmautohaus.com, www.ecstuning.com, and www.034motorsports.com Thoughts? Should I just order matching assemblies supposedly for the 2000-2002 models because they will work just fine on my 2004 model, or am I SOL & should wait? Any other online outlets that I've missed in my search? Thanks in advance for your attention & time! :D |
They are transmission based. A fwd shaft is all the same. Advanced Auto has them for $60 a side and come with a lifetime warranty. Somehow you break it, they will replace it. Plus its local
