Default battery housing

The battery housing on my TT is not to my standards. In the corner where the two walls of the housing clamp together, they dont stay attatched. The battery has room to move and does slightly while driving. Any suggestions?

Are you talking about the plastic part on top of the battery? Thats not what holds down the battery, look in the front of the battery at the bottom and check to see if the battery hold down is there or not. It shouldn't budge.

yes i unhooked the top plastic cover with the fuses on it. I also removed the wires to the terminals. The battery then simply lifted out. There is nothing securing it down.

Thats because you are missing the locking plate. In the front of battery there is a small metal plate with a bolt. That plate has a lip on it that foot of the battery slides into. Your plate may be there but whoever last serviced the battery may have chose to ditch the plate or not lock it down.
