Default Buffing Headlights

Tonight was one of the first times I've seen my TT with it's headlights on and me not in it. Needless to say my headlights look pathetic! Does anyone know how I would go about pulling off the lens so I can use a buffer to smooth out the scratches? Thanks!

You will need to remove your bumper, then take the whole headlight units out and use either a heat gun or put them in the oven to take the lens off... yes its a bit of work, but good luck

there is a company called "Clear Again" it is a francise and they come to my dealership and do our Porsche's Audi's and Acura's They do great work It works if its the outside you need buffing. If you have a problem in the Lens buy repalcement lens

You can email me for there number and you can see if you have one near you. They charge me 90 usd.

you could try plastic polish, and do it right on the car. if the pits are too deep, its also possible to wet sand with 1500 grit, and then polish it. I think there might also be something similar to clearcoat you can paint on to fill the pits and smooth everything out.

Try a search on audiworld, i've seen posts before on cleaning up headlights

I'm pretty handy, but one thing I've always been weary of is sanding my headlights! The audi I'm buying has 3 (total) very minor blemishes, a very very small ding, 0.5" of drivers' door inside edge paint chipped (opened the door into something), and a small, but somewhat deep scratch in the right front headlight where a stone hit the car. I was going to varnish the headlights and hope it leveled out. I may want to sand it first... what precautions should I take to make sure I can't mess anything up?

Black Baron Lens polishing kit is probably the best route to get small pits, scratches and discoloration out.

Thanks for all the help, I'm planning to try buffing it next weekend, just the outside. Hopefully, that will help.
