you can test the sensor with a multimeter ( the lower the temp = a higher ohms reading ) test by probing pins 1 and 3, example O degrees C should show 5000 ohms so the higher the temp the lower the reading and a 100 degrees C would be around 140 ish ohms, if engine is warm ane the sensor give zero reading its the sensor and you need a new one
coolant temp sensor and easy enough to replace
