Hey all,

Got my 2000 TT quattro with 83k. So I have been driving it and found that when I go over bumps I hear a creaking that sounds like its right under the middle of the car like under the radio area. It creaks pretty good.

Bushings? Shocks? Springs? Any guesses?

yeah..i have a audi TT FWD and i also hear a creaking noise also..i thought it was the bushings or shocks but anotha thing i thought it was is mayb the flexpipe in the exhaust, but im not sure..

 

I would try some WD-40 on the Swaybar Bushings i had the same noise on my 01 225 and sprayed some on there and it's not there anymore.

 

jack the front end up and spray any rubber components with silicon, its a common problem

WD40 is a releasing oil silicon spray is a lubricant

just done one today same problem apparently the A4s are as bad with this

 

I jacked up car and sprayed all the bushings i could see. Still have a creaking sound I think its the Spring? Shock or struts do I have up there

So a update of the creaking. It rained like a mother frigger here for like 2 days. NO creaking since then. According to my Audi tech he said the sway bar bushings are dusted with this powder and when the powder is gone creaking. said it was very easy to fix to change the bushings. has anyone ever done it?

Any how the creaking is gone for now. Im thinking after I do timing belt stuff i will replace the bushings then the suspension
