Well, I ended up buying a '01 TT 180 hp a couple months back and am really happy with it.

I was trying to pull the radio out without OEM keys because someone said you can cut thin strips out of credit cards and use that. One of the plastic strips snapped because it got caught in something in the radio key hole and now it's completely stuck in there.

Anybody know how I would be able to take the plastic out of the hole? Is there a way to take after the head unit or something? I'm not even sure if a radio key could fit in there now.

As far as the broken off credit card, just keep working at getting it out. At least you now have a new Sunday project.

Not a lot of options. I would try to get it out for a while, and if that doesen't work maybe try to push it in really far and use the correct tool to remove the radio.

I went to a stereo install place and they got it out for me, shouldnt charge you anything

i would jam a dent puller directly into the face of the headunit, then hammer away at it like it owes you money.

go down to shucks and borrow their rental radio removal tools and do it in the parking lot, they wont charge you anything and having one side unclipped may give you enough room to jiggle the jammed clip open.....

on a side not, i bought my radio removal tools from ebay $4.99 delivered! lol

I'd go to wal-mart and get a lil cd player that runs off a car charger . Then go and get some bose head_phones! Very nice setup!!
