Dead battery, what could it be?
Hi! Could someone please help me, I have a 2006 tt 1.8v and am going through a hard time this past year ha, I have replaced the radiator and hoses, auxiliary water pump, water pump, timing belt, and both fans and fan control module... basically this car has sucked the life out of me. I am stating all this so you know what has already been replaced. I also purchased a new battery a little over a month ago. I went out of town for the weekend and when I went to start my car this morning it wouldn't start. I tried it a couple of times and just drained the battery completely, not even a ticking sound. A friend tried to jump it off, but it would not start, lights came on but engine would not turn over. Since I just had this problem last month and purchased a new battery then, I am trying to figure out if it could be an alternator or starter?

Possible you have a parasitic drain killing the battery, possibly other issues. A simple check of the battery with a
voltmeter will tell. A healthy battery will register 12+ volts. If it registers 11.3 volts or so it is discharged.
