I dont know what race I was watching on you tube, but I watched a brand new M5 womp a new corvette in a drag.

I still think its funny that its a family sedan competing with an american sports car.

The corvette has absolutly nothing on the other cars in its class : Austn martin's,911's...etc

I guess at this point, we are going to agree on not agreeing...because im not going to get in an online debate.

Hope your honda keeps you driving for many miles!

The C5 has some serious issues with it.Yes, they are fast.Yes,I like the looksof them. However, for a car that as a whole starts having major issues at 60K I would not say it is of very high quality.I am sure if your brother ownsone he visits their boards regularly and he has heard of the common horror stories and why people start dumping them on the market after 40K miles. Every car has a chance to be a lemon or an outstanding reliable performer, but C5 vettes have a very high rate of failure for various elecrical and engine components. The C5's interior is also lacking fit, finish and style as well. The new high end Corvette's also go for a boat load of money ($78,675.00 and up). You can't compare a new 7 series price to a used C5 price. If I did that I could say my Audi TT is a better economic bargain than a Civic. Anyway, most of your aurguments are flawed.
I will add this for you though. If you compare a comparably priced toyota/lexus with it's German competitor, thefit/finish and materials are also very comparable with this major difference, the Japanese brands focus a little more on high quality synthetic materials while the Germans focus a little more on natural materials. Both good and both acceptable on the same level, but each suits aslightly different taste.

I still cant believe this conversation is moving.

I've never seen a C5 that cost as much as my 7 series. When bought new, my car was $97,000. I've never seen a Corvette even near that price.

Exactly... If you want to talk about how great Hondas are or how good a C5 is, take it to the appropriate forum. If you didn't happen to notice, this is an Audi TT forum. This thread has gotten completely off topic for the forum.

I wana chime in here a bit. I like the Honda, hell if you spend a few grand on that 6 cylinder motorit is a threat for sure.

The ZO6 will stomp the **** outathe 5 series carperiod, on any kinda course. Now, I am sure there may be a video of a kill, but I seriously doubtthe 5 was stock or even close. (Blown 540i or M5 with tricks) The ZO6 is a world class sports car, but I am stillnot a fan so do not think I am on a soap box here.

BMW has issue that are a hella lot more serious than cheap interior parts that USA cars get slammed for(5 series vanos / 3 series rear shock towers/ z3 diff mounts tearing/ cooling systems in most modelsetc..) BMW is way down on the list of quality these days (top car is Porsche, number 2 was Hyundai).

So I will not diss Honda, I am sure if I wanted to make serious power I could if I wanted to spend the cash, and if my goal was cheap insurance and a sleeper car I could scare the hell out of a few TT drivers.

With that being said the TT was alot more sexy than the accord for sure, and in the end all those alluminum bits really made my choice easier.

whoa..... the M5 is a beast. I will hand most cars, domestic or exotic there ***'s. The new V10 M5 seriously made my stomach HURT it accelerated so hard. When we were done with it, I had to sit down because I thought I was going to hurl.

I think we need to give you some M for a weekend...you'll never want anything else. If I had around 95k laying around i'd buy one myself....but im not going to invest my money that foolishly. Cars are never worth the price they are new..... I'm gonna give it 3 or 4 years...pick it up with around 35,000 miles from some old man who's basically breaking it in for me...buy it for around $40k and call it a day.

Now thats how you buy a BMW

M5=[sm=bling.gif] Z06=[sm=bling.gif], I would take either of the two over the TT. However, I will take the M5 over the C5. I love the 06 Z06 that is my dream car right after I get my Lotus.

I remember this starting about Hondas vs. Audi, where did it change to BMW vs. CHEVY that isnt even close to the same topic at least the honda vs. audi was kinda on point. But if you want to compare to european vs. domestic, or japanese cars then thats fine in my book, to those that think that a honda is a better car than the TT, [sm=icon_beat.gif], now with mods will some hondas perform better than a TT, YES. With mods will a TT perform better than a some Hondas, YES. But out of the box, from the showroom floor take a Stock TT(that years newest model with the highest performing engine) up against the same years newest honda (highes performing engine) and put them on a track together, 1/4 mile, road course, take it out on the street and see if you were going to give it away which car most people (old people, fat, tall, skinny, whatever) and see which car they will pick... That is what I would like to see done.

I can tell you this from what I have seen at least in my town, that when my car club goes out, mind you I had a competely stock TT, with moded civics, a SVT focus(with mods), Eclipse turbo AWD(with mods), SRT-4(with mods), S-10s tricked out with Nawzzzz, 350 Z twin turbo(garage kept show car), and even a supercharged Accord, that my TT was always in the spotlight, people wanting to come get some from me? People not knowing what it has under the hood, maybe was because they were so used to seeing all the other cars, or maybe it was becasue the TT is in the top of the class, but I know that theTT is always watched in my town, when one drives by people stop talking and just watch, when a civic drives by people continue on with whatever it was that they were doing.... to me thats what truly matters.

Cant well all just [sm=icon_cheers.gif]...
