Diode Mod, Boost Guage, and MBC Install
Lets say I already have an APR chip upgrade....well because I do...lol. I know I need to get a boost gauge, but do i need to get a boost controller too? If so would it be benificial to just do this entire setup even though I already have the APR chip?
hey i just read the thread about the diode mod. I was wondering about your last comment about adding a diode to a car that is going into limp. if you can please advise because I have had this problem and no one seems to know why. I am starting to troubleshoot by cleaning the map and cleaning the TB but so far nothing else has worked. any advice?
thanks.
thanks.
some chips after 17psi have been known to throw the car into limp. it seems to be more often with the gaic x+ file. Since you have an 01 and a chip, you can try adding a 4.7v diode. It may just help you out.
but before you do any of that, i see you have a differnt n75, put the stock unit back in and try that first if you havent. Some chips dont like differnt n75's

cincytt,
can't seem to find a diode for an 01 tt 225 hp.
i have an mbc, w'c after reading thru your post, i am still confused.......
when the car goes into limp mode, is this a permanent until reset or momentarily?
leaving the n75 plugged in and running the mbc from the lines, would i need to cap the n75/
what's the max boost i can run on a non chipped non diode car?
thanks

Limp is not perminate, it can be cured by lowering the boost and reseting the ecu (unplug the battery)
You probably should cap the n75, but i nevered did and ran fine.
i dont think you can run past 1bar without a chip on any 1.8t. And since thats where the 225 already is, you cant really up the boost without the diode or a chip.
