Default Door Problems

Sorry if this has been asked before, I did quite a bit of searching and the most simialr thing I could find was to a reading of a door always being open.

When I open my driver side door the window doesnt roll down a few inches like it should, I'm thinking the reason is because my car isnt sensing the open door, for example no door open warning shows on the display like it does if the passenger door is open, and if I press the alarm button with the door wide open it will still beep to indicate everything is shut and the car is secure. I did open the door panel recently to play around for something unrelated but recall it not working before I ever went in. Anyway is this the same sensor malfunction as with a door always open, if so how easy is the install and how costly.

Another quick question, do you guys know of any good online sources for used parts, in particular the storage door between the seats of my 2001 roadster is busted and I dont want to pay the 145$ price the dealer is asking for the door. Thanks in advance for any help.

im not sure about your door, sounds just like a door sensor to me or maybe a fuse...

the storage door is on genuineaudiparts.com for $102.76, for some reason i couldnt link it, takes a little searching to get to but its there... try keywords "convertible" or "lid"

You might just need to reset your window. It happened to me when my battery died; wouldn't drop when opened and auto up/down stopped working. I think the reset is something like turn the car on, put window all the way down, then all the way up, let go of switch, then press up again and hold for a few seconds.

Thanks for the suggestions, I tried the window reset but it didn't work and when I go to take the top down the windows will pop down a bit, just not when I open the one door. I couldn't find the input for a playstation controller either, so a location on that would be great if that will fix the problem. Also if anyone knows of a good way to figure out if the sensor is messed up, or maybe how the sensor even works so I could mess around with it, any other hints on what could be up are greatly appreciated as well. Thanks a lot guys.

If the reset didnt work (meaning you dont have 1 touch windows), its most likely your sensor like stated already.
