Im trying to remove my ecu of my 02 tt Quattro..
Is it normal to have a piece of black metal around my ecu and the right wiring harness so I cant unplug it?
I got the left wiring harness off and couldn't get the right one off so I slid the whole ecu out still attached to the right wiring to see what the problem was

Not sure if you can see anything but this is the right wiring harness with the metal over it

You need to remove the security screws to get the bracket off. Here's a link to an APR instruction sheet on the B6 A4 that shows how to remove the security screws. They are a royal pain in the tush to get off. I used a small pair of vise-grips and turned them off. Good luck.

I'll be doing this tomorrow, I started tonight but I ran out of light.
I don't have a cut-off wheel available, so I have to figure something out.
I'll let you know If I figure out a decent way to get them out.

 

i had to do the same and... i just cut a line in the security screws so i could fit a flat head in...
