Default audi TT vs Bmw z4 3.0

yesterday me and a buddy mine met to do some runs with his new car 2004 z4 3.0, we did a couple of runs from stand still to about 200km/h.

we did two runs with both having the same result, i would pull him by about 2 cars first three gears and then at about 90mph he would start to pull by 120mph he would be about 2 cars ahead and the same thing would happen in the second run.

Audi tt 180q 5speed : approx 15psi boost software, forge p007 dv, custom 225 exhaust, removed resonator, fpr 3.1bar

bmw z4 3.0 tiptronic: software other than that stock.

any comments about the outcome

Your K03 has a lot of low punch, but its can't flow well enough to produce the top-end power needed to keep pulling on him - you can actually see that because you start in front, and slowly fall back. His 3.0 I6 also has more power, and autos typically have longer gears...all that is why you'll fall behind.

RWD

so ya hes faster and almost 500-600lbs lighter... now if u had my car you would smoke him lol

From the research i have done into larger turbo's, it not cost effective to bolt on a K04 as its not as simple as it sounds, you are better off going for an after market big turbo kit if you are going to do anything turbo wise

The ko4 is a low end turbo also meaning it makes far more tq than hp. Its not until you start getting to the gt28rs where you start making as much if not more hp than tq.

Me and my good friend have little races all the time. He has a 2002 GTI 337 and I have a 2001 TT 225 Roadster meaning we both have six speed 02m trannies. His car is bone stock with a k03 I, last time we raced, had the K04 with a chip, intake, and 3" DP and dyno'd at 220AWHP his car bone stock is 180 BHP. He is a little more than 500 lbs lighter than me though. Racing from stop sign I always beat him but not by a ton. My point is I don't think you will be happy for very long if you did upgrade to the K04. It still falls off power in the higher RPMs and higher gears just like your K03. I say keep the K03 until you can afford to upgrade to a turbo that will make a real difference.
