ESP indicator code?
Anyone ever seen this one? My ESP indicator light has been comming on intermittanly for about a month now. I can sometimes get it to turn off by shutting off the car and turning the key to on position without starting for about 30 sec. It will stay off from anywhere between 2 min to 2 days. I was able to get a local repair shop to pull the code for me. It was 01423 "sensor diagonal acceleration G 200 -problem in electrical circuit-- not a plausable signal--error intermittant" So my question is: Is this just one of those harmless electrical gremlins or something I should be concerned with? I can not detect any changes in the performance or handling. Anyone?
yeah i wasted the money on that sensor and it turns out its just deactivates the esp system when one of those sensors go bad....not like i care since i drive with it off most the time anyway. now i have heard that it can affect the ABS system as well...but the ABS light will be on as well as the esp light
sounds ridiculous, check your MAF... my ESP light went on while having issues with the MAF, and was absolutely tied into the MAF system, I wound up being able to deactivate ESP by unplugging the MAF. Just a thought....

to really troubleshoot this you need to be good with automotive electrical diagnotstics. or you can buy alot of new parts until its fixed. make sure the sensors are installed correctly and there are no wiring problem between them. also chech the voltage levels between the transverse acceleration module to the abs computer. look to the voltage wires and the grounds. these will tell you if there is a failed part anywhere. you should find someone local to you with a VAG COM and look at the freeze frames to see what you where doing when the intermittent code hit. i.e speed, rpm, braking....etc. hope i didnt talk you out of trying this yourself, hit me up if you want more info.
yah, i have the 01423 code also, two of them in fact (57-10 and 27-10) and i also have P1128, which may or may not be related to the MAF. Im gonna try unplugging the MAF and see if any of the issues go away. I also cleaned the MAF recently so maybe the ECU will catch up with that soon, if the MAF is still good that is.
weird since i got my tires balanced and rotated it hasnt came back on....still havnt changed out the sensor if anyone wants it....140 dollars is what i paid....sell it for 80 shipped
