No its a great investment, my old hose was collapsing and choking off my turbo, yes the old one is a pain in the *** to get off, and the bottom clamp is a pain in the *** to get back on, however if you plann on modding your car heavily I strongly encourage purchasing one of these.

I have a 225 and was hearing that you get some signifigant HP improvements by upgrading that hose. Should I do a FMIC first?

You only get HP if your old intake hose is collapsing which usually happens after you chip your car, I suggest that every 225 should get this product. Its helped me alot along with my intake and ****.
