Default FWD Exhaust options

For a while I've been wanting to just fab up my own FWD catback, I have the resources to do it. Unfortunately, I'm not sure I really have all the time to do it, so I've been thinking about just buying a cat-back to bolt up. I'm looking for something that's not much louder than stock, I'm more interested in the performance aspect. I'll be running this with a 3" DP.

Unfortunately I haven't really seen many options. I saw the techtonics on Perf Cafe, which seems to be pretty much what I'm looking for:

2.5", uses Borla bits, $600. The system from Borla itself is a little more but it doesn't have any pics of it or any specifics (diameter etc)

Anybody seen one or know the specifics on it? I also saw a Neuspeed system but it's 2.25", not cutting it. Remus system seems like it's not very loud, it'd be nice to hear it with the car NOT running like sh:t though:

Plus I can't find any specifics. There's also Jetex, however I don't really like that tip nor am I sure whether that muffler is a straight through...it sure looks a lot like the OEM:

Any other systems I haven't seen?

I plan on doing my own 3" and may do 3" for others since 2.5" is the largest you can get for the fwd

Blueflame does make an exhaust for the 180FWD. I emailed Nigel about it when I first bought the TT.

a cheap glass pack works great and is straight through. not that loud, and being long, it gives the note a lower tone. if you were to put a second glass pack where the resonator is, then it would even lower. the drone isn't that bad at all. my 2 cents

STJACKET - I think your next build should be a skid plate for the TT. I saw that dieselgeek tried offering one for the TT priced at like $350 and wouldn't modify it for the airducts on the OEM plastic part.

oh, sh$t, lexan would be great for the skid plate. tougher then alot, to include aluminum in some ways, and you can see through it for leaks and what not. going to the drawing board tonight.....

Can you give me the email address?

Is there that much point to those little scoops? Seems like most of what they're good for is letting salt get onto my oilpan.

Lexan's not bad, but won't it just flex and let your oilpan get smashed anyway? (unless you use some uber thick lexan I suppose)

Here's the MkIV Panzer Plate:

Aluminum...so it doesn't weigh much...but how about making one out of steel? Heavier, but much tougher.

As far as exhaust goes havs anyone considered an exhaust cutout?
My buddy just put one on his Jetta GLI 1.8T, that thing sounds mean!!!
He got it used for $200 made by QTP, its a downpipe with cutout combo.
His car sounds amazing.
just thought Idd put that out there.
