Greddy chips
I just bought a 2000 audi TT quatro 180 hp version the dude told me he had a greddy chip on it and thats why the check engine light wont shut off so my question is any of you have a greddy chip on you TT and what kind are you use... ohh yeah the only upgrades are k&n filter and the chip supposedly.
I'd have someone run the car for codes and see what the CEL is showing.
If you really want to see if it wont shut off make sure you have your radio code (just in case it goes into safe mode) and pull the ground off the battery for 10-15mins. This will allow the ecu to lose all stored codes. Once you hook it back up the CEL should be gone.
and for what its worth, I would have done all this before buying this car.
Hope it all works out.

I'd do the above and if its "chipped" there no way of telling unless you have a vagcom..I'd contact the previous owner and ask him where he got this greddy chip because I have never heard of it the leading chip makers for our cars are: Unitronic, Revo, GIAC, APR...You could also drive a stock 180 from a dealer and see if you can tell if yours has a decent gain in hp vs the stock tt thats what i did on my 225 and concluded it indeed did NOT have a chip in it which excited me i was hoping it no to have as i plan to get it uni tuned (unitronic chipped) from rayveedub raimotorsport...anyways best of luck to you
yes beks.
Greddy does have some euro stuff out (like the SP2 exhaust) but mainly, this greddy chip is a hoax. Though they do have engine management/ 'e-manage'systems (downloadable maps, etc.) for other turbo apps, i.e. STi's, Evo's and support for all their turbo kits.
hell even Greddy has e-manage systems for your gameboy advance.tuning can be producting and fun [&:]
