Sorry couldn't resist!
Now that that's out of the way... Where exactly did you put your new dv?
Most people just take the old one out and put the new one back in it's place.
I'm not sure how a boost controller would get in the way, but then again I don't know that much about them.
However, there are a few around here that have their dv in the stock location and run a boost controller...

i have just put a dumpvalve on no boost valve yet just wondering if i have done the right thing by putting a dumpvalve on the intercooler pipe instead of it being where the original one is?

As long as it's between the turbo outlet and the throttle body you should be okay.

If you removed the old, and replaced it with your new dump valve... What's the problem?
I guess a better question is... Where was the original valve that you took out...

If you are venting the air, you need to plug the intake and put it on the charge pipe. If you are recirculating the air back to the intake, you should have the valve on the intake and pulling air from the charge pipe with the stock hose.
