With a maf based car your safer with a recirculating valve, but since you have a baileys twin piston dump valve, you will be fine. You have it installed 100% correct. It maybe a little rough at first, but after a couple days it will be perfect.

I just wanted to make sure you were from the UK so i can get my termonalogy correct between us.

A bov releases the air into the atmosphere, and a dv recirculates it.

its installed correctly, i was just wondering if it will have lost power, compared to if i had put a new recirculting valve on?

nope. If it runs like it should, you wont have any problems.

ok cheers, so the first thing to do really is to chip it, before getting a boost valve?

No point in adding boost with a chip or diode before you know if you have any boost leaks etc. Get a boost gauge, see the faq in this forum for more info. Make sure you are hitting the psi/bar you are supposed to, same for vac. If that looks good and you are up to date on the maintenace, go for the chip. my .02.
