ooooh something for me to tinker with. now that my car is parked.

can you list the things that you were missing in order to spare me the back and forth driving to the hardware store?

also the starter kit you got, was there enough for all the vacs? did you use the under hood vac guide or did you reference anything else?

The EGR/Combi valve is taking in air, not coolent.
come on nate you know i know this....i was asking erin if he had to remove the plastic coolant pipe coming from the block to gain access to the egr valve....most 1.8 t have to remove that in order to make room to remove the egr valve....but the 225s egr valve is a little different layout than the rest of the 1.8t family

No I didnt have to remove coolant line to get to everything. Next I need new hose and clamps for, charge pipe to DV. I think that is where I am still leaking from.

I just had to piece together what I needed, I would be lying to you if I made a list as I dont exactly remember. The main thing that I did was to put good clamps on every connection that your going to keep. The OEM clamps are worthless. Well they are good for stock boost but once it goes up then you need to upgrade.

is it not a good idea to remove the n249 and SAI if one's car still has to get emissions tested? I'm in chicago, and I think they do the plug-in test for newer cars..

I think my SAI is the thing that is super noisy for the first 60 seconds of start up..then it magically goes away..

The n249 isnt emissions, so thats fine, but the sai is. You will more than likely fail even with resistors and no cel with the sai gone.
