Default I have a few questions regarding my 01 TT Quattro

Greetings!

I have a few questions and would like your opinions. The car is running just fine (knock on wood) and just wondering if I should leave well enough alone.

1st: How often should I clean the MAF? I haven't had a code suggesting there's a problem and wonder if I did clean it, would it send a code.
2nd: The only non-OEM part on the car is a non cone, drop in K&N air filter using the factory air box. I put it in 8000 miles ago. How often should I clean it?
3rd: Fuel: The gas door on the car states 98 octane. In the states, short of finding racing fuel which is not close to me, I put in 93 octane (highest premium fuel available locally) for the last 7 years.
It runs fine but I have often wondered if it could run better? There is an alternative fuel available. It considered "recreational" and has less octane (91) but its classified as 100 % gasoline. From what I have read, the 93 octane has a life expectancy of 45 days vs. 91 octane having even longer since there is no ethanol in it.

Thank you for your time. I look forward to your thoughts.

Rudy

Probably not interested any more, but we have 225K on our TT and 1) have NEVER cleaned the MAF, 2) use OEM style air filters and change at the 40K interval suggested by Audi, and 3) have always used the 91-93 octane "Premium" that is available here in MA. Our car was in storage (with fuel in the tank) for 2 1/2 years. Just took it out and am still burning through that old fuel...seems to run just fine.
