Im in the market for a bike, gimme some ideas.
something like a cruiser, def. no sport bikes, thats not my style (sport cars are different).
Looking to spend around or less than $7000, and I want something new. For once I'd like something that I don't need to fix someone elses lack of care/maintainence.
2 Bikes I've thought about so far are the 07 Triumph Bonneville (a modern classic) and the 07 Kawasaki Vulcan 500.
Any other suggestions?

call up OCC and ask the for a theme built 7000 dollar bike. or go with the triumph. also look into victory bikes my neighbor has one he thinks highly of.
and its a sport bike... pretty much the one bike I said I wasn't gonna buy. Good try though!
Ray, I'll check into the victory, but I'm really leaning toward the Triumph. You don't see to many around, and thats a selling point to me. Why buy the same thing as everyone else. Case in point, the TT, I had a crowd of people around me at the pub tonight asking me about my car, or asking me to unlock it so they could see inside. It may not be a super sports car, but its def. not something you see everyday, and where else am I gonna get that sort of crowd for the 10K car I drive.

i missed the part about no sport bikes... this thread got me all excited...
i think that honda has some nice cruising bikes out there and so does BMW.... my neighbors actaully have a pair of BMW bikes

I'd say most of europe is pretty good at designing works of art, rolling or not.
Except france.... I hate those limp wristed bastards.... ; )
I forgot all about the BMW bikes, I have a friend with 2 of em, an 1100 touring bike, and an old POS he's 'restoring'. That 1100 sounds nice, gotta love the boxer engine.

Triumph will certainly fit the bill as an attention grabber. Any of the classic models are great. The Thruxton in particular is a hoot. Vintage cafe racer styling, decent power and reasonable prices. Get you more attention than the tt.
A friend of mine is real big on convincing me to get the Thruxton, its just a little more than I'd like to spend, but its def. high on my list. If I'm not feeling the Bonneville on the test ride, I may fall back to the Thruxton.
