Default Intake Manifold Upgrade

So yea I know there's no real point in upgrading the intake manifold to a larger one if youre not going big turbo b/c it wouldnt be worth the dollar per hp..but say you came across one for next to nothing and decided to put it on with the k04..would it give you any gain at all or just drag your lowend hp down while giving u more on the high end? BTW, all my posts now are being written from Iraq. fun in the sun

Depends on the intake. If it is a high flowing intake it will kill the lowend and probably not help the topend either. The ABD intakes which flow OK, show very little gains on a ko3s car with some minor lowend dropoff. But with a ko4, it should bea little less negative and a little more positive. So again, depends on the intake used.

Thats pretty accurate. The onlyone that manifold beat in testing was the stock small port head. The stock large port killed it and so did the crappy ABD manifold thats about 1/2 the cost

In fact, most of what you buy brand new for the TT is waaay overpriced, and a lot of it is just plain garbage..but some of it is real nice. I wonder if the ABD intake would give me any decent gains on the stock set up

They are mainly MKIV stuff and are now moving to MKV stuff. Dont be to disappointed, the fit and finish on it is about a 6 out of 10. Get the real power adders first and then worry about maxing out the turbo
