just purchased an '08 TT and wondering if it has an mp3 ipod input?
I see something in the glove box that looks like it should b an ipod hookup not sure. Anyone know whether there is one or not? and if there isn't one where can I get one. Also I see a couple of SD drives what are they? Thanks for any and all help!! TW
Hi Tim,
New guy to the forum here! I have an 08 also and if you look in the glovebox there is a small area where it is a square with pins in the back(if you have ipod connection) you would also have a set of flat wedges that you can fit into this space to actually accommodate the size player you are using. I use my 3g iphone, you slide your player in and have it seat into the pins and then (on mine) I have the nav unit and there is a cd button below the screen that you press and it will bring you to the aux then cd(which is how this ipod player works ..it sees it as 6 cds and then within them are the tracks which are not read they just show as tracks. The sd card reader which is in back of the nav screen is a bit better because it reads and displays the music on screan and in the dis ..hope this helped! Oh I forgot to mention the ipod/iphone hookup also charges the device while playing tracks

Hey Tim,
I use a Mac for my computer and mine does not have sd drive ...what I use is my HP photosmart printer which has 3 slots to read and write onto sd cards. So when ever I want to load up a card(2gb) I slide it in .......my computer recognizes this as a drive and I put mp3's onto it. Don't try to use anything bigger than a 2gb though because the car won't read it...or it will take forever trying to load the songs. Also radio shack offers a digital card reader which has 6 different size slots and it can be plugged into any available usb plug on your computer...does the same thing as I mentioned earlier...shows up on the desktop as a drive and you just put your files onto it..remember to drag it to the trash to eject tho. Hope your enjoying the TT ..love mine! make sure you read your manual..there is a lot of helpful info in there.

Hey Tim,
I believe it is all time all wheel with power going to the wheels that slip...another words not rear or front! I have been able to throw my *** out in tight corners with my foot on the pedal and it always corrects itself because of the all wheel....and of course the Traction control makes a big difference also. I have had my car for 3 years now and have not had any real issues other than getting a flat tire which can be troublesome depending on how bad of a flat you get. I once stood in the rain for 4 hours waiting for Audi care to send someone that never showed up. You see the TT does not come with a spare so they give you inflate foam which seals a leak. The cars usually come with runflat tires so you can still ride on them to get them fixed but if you damage the tire or rim badly(say a pothole) then you're stuck waiting for in my case Audi care who could not locate a flatbed to pick up my car , because the other thing about all wheel drive and the TT is that it can not be towed without screwing up your Quattro. All in all I love my car and still have a giant smile when ever I get in...Really...I love my car. I've had a lot of cars and this is the 1st car that I can say I will keep or upgrade to a newer model because it is light years ahead of it's competition.

Good discussion. I am learning about these TT's. I am looking at a 2009 coupe, 3.2. This one does not have NAV and it looked like there wasn't an iPod connection in the glove box. So what do I do?
Also, Quattro is biased slightly in the rear like 48/52 (F/R) so if you have enough power you can fishtail it. Watch a good driver in an R8 sometime -- SWEET!

Welcome A8, If the TT does not have the ipod connection there are multiple ways to go aftermarket. The Dealerships can add ipod connectivity if you want it but for the price you can go to any audio installer and they can supply a better solution....as I said earlier the Audi connection is lame because you are not able to see Name of song, Artist! etc... and there are many devices now that will enable this...even changing out the head if your looking for Nav/bluetooth you can get a pioneer with a great nav and ipod connection that looks better and functions better than the Audi set up. Let us know if you get the car you'll love it I guarantee smile from ear to ear.
