Ok, so I was working my wife to get some new mods and she posed a simple quiestion to which I'm embarassed that I don't know and shocked that I can't find it here, audiworld, or google! The question...
What does the "K" stand for??

german made cars with a turbo that has kkk... which is kinda like KKK(ku klux klan)... germany which... used... to be all about the "perfect race" and the KKK which is all about white supremecy... maybe its there way of showing there teaming up to get rid of "sparkling wiggles"

The K refers to "Kompressor" that word you see on the Mercedes all the time. The term does not denote just superchargers though and actually refers to any air compressor. Hence the term Kompressor (denoted by a K) to refer to the device as a turbocharger. This is equivalent to the T used in the T25 or T3 turbos.

KKK=Kühle, Kopp and Kausch...German turbine manufacturer now owned by Borg Warner.
KKK turbos have been used for a long time in Porsches and Audis/VW's...911 turbos have used them, I'm not sure if KKK still makes the new variable geometry turbos in the 997 though.
