Hi, I was driving down the highway the other day and i think i lost my transmission. car starts, revs fine etc etc...but the clutch feels way spongy, like its not moving anything and there are metal shavings in the engine bay....

car wont move...any thoughts/ideas? or just get a flatbed and have it fixed?

if you are in gear and you are not moving, you have no transmission. If you have shavings in your engine bay, thats never a good sign. Sounds like the case broke and you have no fluid

 

i think its my clutch..its at the shop now..so ill know later what it really is...

but yeah, clutch pedal was just going up and down...no resistance...so hope its not THAT bad...

looked like the shavings came from teh flywheel, looking into the inspection hole at the lower crank...the flywheel was scored...shavings came out of the inspection hole...
