So lately my car starts then it dies 10 seconds later. While all of this is happening the rpm gauge doesnt move. Then when I start it again, it starts right up, the rpm gauge works, but I have to reset the clock and calender. This happens like 3 or 4 times a day. Anyone know what it can be? I was thinking the battery since I dont think it has very been changed. Its 6 years old. Just let me know thanks

 

If it is the battery, with everything off, check the voltage across the terminals. It should be >12.5V for everything to work correctly. Less than that and strange things happen.

 

you sure its not ghost or gremlins?

Its sounds battery related here also. Take your car to autozone/pepboys and they will test it to help determine what is the problem.
