Thinking about replacing the entire audio system.

1. I've seen 2 diffrent sizes for the speaker sizes: 5 1/2 & 6 3/4
WHICH ONE?

2. Has anyone replaced the factory tweeters??
ANY ADVICE/TIPS/TROUBLE

3.Thinking about putting a componenty system in the rear speakers (hince question #2). So far i've heard good things about full component systems???

This is what I did...

I went with Boston Acoustics SX60 Components 6.5" & tweeter in the front doors. They're a little bigger - but look and sound great.

Don't know if you're looking for a thumping system -I didn't want my trunk spacetaken awaywith some outrageous tonsil vibrating bass- but my installer talked me into a pair of 8" Series 2 Rockford Fosgate sub woofers and it rocks.

One of my biggest issues with the TT was the Bose system. Any that was a HUGE surprise due to the fact I use to own a pair of 901's (lost them in a divorce) and currently have a Wave radio and the Cinemate surround system for my widescreen!

So I was expecting a huge, custom built difference. Man! Was I disappointed. For some reason the sound only comes from the front of the car. There are speakers in the rear, but you have to crank the system up just to hear them and there is no adjustment to the rear on the Concert system (the roadster has that only - I've got the coupe). There is practically no bass.

Needless to say I went with a complete system makeover.
